Our Interior Designer feature for the month of February is Lindsay Cannon with Lovelace Interiors! Lindsay is a talented interior designer at Lovelace Interiors who has a passion for creating spaces that not only look beautiful but also serve the needs of her clients. She fell in love with the Destin/Santa Rosa Beach area while working there during her college internship and has since made it her home. When asked how she got started in interior design she said, “I remember being a small child and cutting pictures I liked out of my mom’s Southern Living and Traditional Home magazines and filing them away in a folder. I would also draw ‘floor plans’ on graph paper as a sort of space planning. My original degree is from The University of Mississippi in Psychology. After graduation, I knew I wanted to be involved in a more creative field, so I went back to school for an Interior Design degree from Samford University in Birmingham.” Her experiences have helped her develop a unique perspective on creating functional and aesthetically pleasing spaces.
Lindsay’s personal design style is ever-changing, but she always prioritizes her clients’ wishes. She believes that as interior designers, their job is to create spaces that truly function for the individual living in them. “One of the first elements I notice when I walk into a space is the lighting. It can really set the tone for the style and feel of the space. Personally, my design taste is soft coastal contemporary, but I lean towards a more modern and sleek take on hanging chandeliers and vanity light fixtures,” Lindsay stated.
Lindsay draws inspiration from attending the Highpoint Furniture Market in North Carolina, which is the largest worldwide home buying market with over 2,000 exhibitors. When asked what she’s looking forward to in the next coming years she happily replied, “I am currently working on a few large new construction projects with some wonderful couples who have become friends rather than just clients. It has been so fun to see all the blood, sweat, and spec work come to life as these homes are starting to come out of the ground. I look forward to connecting and building these personal relationships with new clients over the next few years.”
Her three must-haves for her business are, “Literally: a computer, floor plans, and fabrics. Figuratively: patience, creativity, and passion,” added Lindsay.
With Lindsay Cannon’s talent for creating functional and aesthetically pleasing spaces, Lovelace Interiors is proud to have her on board. Lindsay’s love for the Emerald Coast, her evolving design style, and commitment to her clients make her an outstanding interior designer.
